A Message from Our Principal
I am honored to be serving in my first year as the Principal of John Barry Elementary School for the 2018-2019 school year. It is an incredible honor to have been chosen to continue to lead such an amazing school that has been nationally recognized for its turnaround efforts and double-digit academic improvements.
I have worked as the Assistant Principal here at Barry for the past three years. In my previous role I have had the privilege of working with your children, as well as many of you, to ensure that your child is receiving the highest level of academic instruction and social emotional supports. I truly believe that John Barry has the best staff, students, families, and community supports, and as a proud parent of two John Barry students, I vow to continue to lead John Barry to even greater accomplishments.
I am also proud to share that Laura Dixon has joined the Barry family as the Assistant Principal. Laura comes from New Haven Public Schools where she is in her twelfth year teaching. She is an exemplary teacher and a dynamic leader.
I am a strong believer in having an open door policy with families. If you would like to meet with myself or Mrs. Dixon, please contact the school and Kristen Natlo, the school secretary, will set up a meeting.
I am excited and grateful to serve the John Barry Community as your new Principal!
